Procedure Overview
Conservative Management: Mild cases of piles can often be managed with conservative measures such as
dietary modifications, fiber supplements, and over-the-counter medications to alleviate symptoms
such as pain, itching, and inflammation. Patients are advised to increase their fiber intake, stay
hydrated, and avoid straining during bowel movements.
Topical Medications: Over-the-counter or prescription topical medications, such as creams,
ointments, or suppositories containing corticosteroids, witch hazel, or numbing agents, may be
recommended to reduce pain, itching, and swelling associated with piles.
Minimally Invasive Procedures: If conservative measures fail to provide relief, minimally invasive
procedures may be considered to treat symptomatic or recurrent piles. These procedures include:
- Rubber Band Ligation :
- Sclerotherapy
- Infrared Coagulation
Surgical Interventions: In severe cases of piles that do not respond to conservative or minimally
invasive treatments, surgical interventions may be necessary to remove or reduce the size of the
hemorrhoids. Surgical options include hemorrhoidectomy or stapled hemorrhoidopexy.
